European nuclear regulators back closer international cooperation and further harmonisation of the rules

Brussels (Belgium) this evening saw the conclusion of the First Regulatory Conference on
Nuclear Safety organised by the European Nuclear Regulators Group (ENSREG), chaired
by Carmen Martínez Ten, President of the Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear (CSN - Nuclear
Safety Council), in collaboration with André-Claude Lacoste and Dr. Ann McGarry, acting
as Vice-Chairs. 

Carmen Martínez Ten chairs in Brussels the First Regulatory Conference on Nuclear Safety in Europe organised by ENSREG

ENSREG´s First Regulatory Conference on Nuclear Safety in Europe will deal in Brussels
June 28 and 29 on improving the common approach towards nuclear safety. At the
opening session today, chair of this conference and President of the Spanish Consejo de
Seguridad Nuclear (CSN), Carmen Martínez Ten, stated that the European Group of
Nuclear Regulators (ENSREG) undertook this project a year ago, before the serious
accident at the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plants in Japan set back nuclear safety at
the core of global issues.

First ENSREG Conference on Nuclear Safety in Europe

The European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) is proud to announce its First European Nuclear Safety Conference, taking place at the European Commission´s Charlemagne Building located in Brussels, Belgium, June 28–29, 2011. Due to space limitations, attendance is by invitation only. A streaming service available at ENSREG website will facilitate following the conference live.
